HIDOE update regarding Feb. 24 Mililani High School incident


Updates regarding an incident at Mililani High School on Feb. 24, 2020.

12:04 p.m.: Statement from Superintendent Dr. Christina Kishimoto:

Our priority is to support the students and families of those impacted by today's incident. We are committed to ensuring that our schools continue to be safe spaces for learning, and as such the well-being of our students and staff remains our highest priority.

This is an evolving situation and we ask that the public please refrain from spreading misinformation. We will continue to update parents and the school community with further details as they become available.

11:09 a.m.: Mililani High School students will be released at 11:30 a.m., bus pick-up to start at 11:45 a.m. Parents are being directed to the school's gymnasium and Meheula Parkway for HPD facilitated pick-ups.

11:04 a.m.: Mililani High School is currently on lockdown due to an incident that took place on campus this morning. The suspect has been apprehended by law enforcement; however, the school remains in lockdown while they investigate.

The campus is currently closed to visitors, so please do not attempt to enter school grounds at this time. Updates will be provided as they become available.
