About this school
Hana High & Elementary has partnered with Kamehameha School preschools to provide all Hana 3 and 4 year old students a preschool education. Nonprofit organizations are located on the school campus and contribute greatly to educating students and involving them in community service activities.
The school redistributes instructional time within a 5-day work week. This results in longer instructional times during 4 of the 5 days and also allows for extended learning opportunities after school and on Fridays. Also on Friday, nonprofit organizations provide enrichment activities in the arts, culture and building and construction community service projects, and the school sets aside time for teachers to meet and receive professional development.
Academic Plan & Financial Plan
Every school develops an Academic Plan as part of collaborative process with its School Community Council, staff and Complex Area. The three-year plan provides structure for a school's plans for improvement, achievement and innovation. The companion one-year financial plan outlines anticipated expenditures to realize the vision of the Academic Plan. Both are aligned to the state's
2017-2020 Strategic Plan.
