Honoka'a High and Intermediate is committed to providing a rigorous and comprehensive curriculum, with college preparatory, advanced placement, career technical education, English language learner and special education courses.

Although a relatively small school, it continues to provide a variety of electives and programs such as robotics, art, health pathway, construction, automotives, physical education, running start, jazz band & ensemble, digital media technology, video productions, Advancement Via Individual Determination and foreign language.

Honoka'a High and Intermediate has developed five main focus areas for school improvement, which are:

  1. A personalized educational experience for all students
  2. Quality academic supports that increase student learning
  3. Effective communication between all stakeholders to foster student success
  4. Students receive quality instruction in every class
  5. All students graduate college and career ready

Academic Plan & Financial Plan

Every school develops an Academic Plan as part of collaborative process with its School Community Council, staff and Complex Area. ​The three-year plan provides structure for a school's plans for improvement, achievement and innovation. The companion one-year financial plan outlines anticipated expenditures to realize the vision of the Academic Plan. Both are aligned to the state's 2017-2020 Strategic Plan.
