Teachers earn, renew national certification
The Hawai'i DOE is celebrating 63 of its teachers statewide who have earned or renewed their National Board for Professional Teaching Standards Certification — a mark of distinction recognizing accomplished teaching that involves a rigorous, performance-based process. STORY  

CARING FOR STUDENTS THE BARBERS POINT ELEMENTARY WAY
Rosa Fanuaea's three children, who each have serious medical needs, attend Barbers Point Elementary, where Rosa says the staff takes extra care to ensure her children are properly cared for while in school. WATCH

WHEN HURRICANES MENACED, STAFF SPRANG TO ACTION
Hurricane season officially ended in November. During Hurricanes Lane (August) and Olivia (September), staff secured campuses and offices on each island. Facilities Maintenance played a particular role to thwart flooding. STORY
