STRATEGIC PLAN APPROVED BY BOARD
The Hawaii State Board of Education unanimously adopted the updated and extended Strategic Plan with amendments. The Plan will be used to guide offices and schools through 2020 with implementation starting next school year. LEARN MORE  


KA'ALA EL PRINCIPAL NAMED COMPLEX AREA SUPERINTENDENT
The Hawaii State Board of Education approved the appointment of Bob Davis to complex area superintendent for Leilehua-Mililani-Waialua. He is "a tremendous leader, who cares about the well-being of all students." STORY  


EDUCATORS TEAM UP TO BUILD SCHOOL SUCCESSES
To scale success in Hawai'i's schools, teams of teachers and leaders are visiting one another and asking, "How did you do that?" Instead of focusing on what's wrong with our schools, we are trying to find and create more of what's right. STORY  


PAUOA EL'S ALL-GIRL ROBOTICS TEAM ADVANCES

HICKAM EL STUDENTS GLIMPSE HISTORY THROUGH SURVIVORS
As part of the 75th commemoration of the Dec. 7, 1941 attack on Pearl Harbor, a group of survivors met with students and share their stories. This is "The Greatest Generation's" third visit to Hickam Elementary. STORY  


MAUI COMPLEX OPENS SPECIAL EDUCATION CENTER
Po'okela Maui will serve the Baldwin-Kekaulike-Maui Complex, and will assist students who have significant behavioral challenges with adjusting to a classroom environment via focused programming. STORY  


EVERY STUDENT SUCCEEDS ACT (ESSA)
