Hawaii public school enrollment grows by 2,000
Enrollment in Hawaii's public schools grew to 185,273 in the 2013-14 school year, attributable to a large number of births in 2008 and more students staying in the state's public schools. STORY  

MORE ROUTES ADDED TO 'GET ON BOARD' BUS PROGRAM
The Department is expanding its "Get on Board" student bus transportation pilot initiative to serve August Ahrens Elementary, Highlands Intermediate, Pearl City High and Waipahu High. STORY  

STUDENTS PROVIDING FEEDBACK ON LEARNING ENVIRONMENT
A student survey — the Tripod Student Perceptions Survey — being administered in Hawaii's public schools will provide educators with critical classroom feedback aimed at improving teaching and learning. STORY  

3 SCHOOLS EARN NATIONAL BLUE RIBBON AWARD
Blanche Pope Elementary, Nuuanu Elementary and Waikiki Elementary schools received the honor for their outstanding performance and improvement efforts. They were nominated by the state last year. STORY
