2026-27 School Year
These calendars apply to all public schools in Hawaiʻi—except for Holomua Elementary (which is a multi-track campus) and charter schools—and provide key information to help you plan ahead. Printable and digital versions of the calendars are found below. You can add them to your Google Calendar for easy reference throughout the year.

Notable Dates
The official school calendar applies to all schools except Holomua Elementary and charter schools. For school year 2026-27:
- Teacher work year begins July 28, 2026
- Student instructional year begins Aug. 3, 2026
Graduation Commencement
The earliest date for commencement exercises is the first weekend preceding the last day of school for students. For the Class of 2027, commencement may be scheduled no sooner than May 21, 2027.

Pursuant to 302A-251, Hawaiʻi Revised Statutes, schools are required to implement a 180-day school year that includes 1,080 hours. All times that students are on campus, including recess and lunch, count toward the 1,080 hour requirement.
