Department announces 2014 graduation dates

The Hawaii State Department of Education is announcing its 2014 graduation dates for more than 60 schools, including public high schools and charter schools. In all, there will be approximately 11,000 students graduating from public schools this year. Graduation dates begin in late May with the ceremonies for Pahoa on Hawaii Island on Sunday, May 18.

H-1 Freeway Rehab Project

Friendly reminder: As you prepare for graduations and celebrations now and in the coming weeks, please be aware that the H1 Freeway Rehabilitation project from Middle Street to Ward Avenue is nearing its scheduled completion of July 2014. Full freeway closures in one direction will be in effect nightly from 8pm, Sunday - Thursday evenings. Partial freeway closures will be in effect in the opposite direction. Please “Be Aware: Plan and Prepare” during this upcoming graduation season. For detailed closure information and alternate route maps, visit H1Rehab.com. In addition there are many other state highways projects in progress, please check the roadwork section of the Hawaii DOT website at hidot.hawaii.gov for all closures.
