Festive hand-drawn Christmas tree ornament designs by 24 Campbell High students are representing Hawaiʻi in the 100th National Tree display in Washington D.C. The designs illustrate what makes Hawaiʻi beautiful to the artists and include vibrant images of hibiscus, palm trees, beaches, rainbows, surfboards, hula dancers, mountains, fish, nēnē, waves, honu, shave ice, the sunset and the diversity of Hawaiʻi’s people. The ornaments adorn 58 smaller trees around the National Tree on the White House grounds, representing states, territories and schools managed by the Bureau of Indian Education and the Department of Defense Education Activity.
