Ewa El. students thrilled their parents, families & teachers with fantastic performances at their 72nd Annual Lincoln Day Program. The annual celebration began with the unveiling of the "Lincoln, the Frontiersman" statue fronting the school on Feb. 12, 1944. Current students uphold proud traditions like the singing of the "Battle Hymn of the Republic," the recitation of the Gettysburg Address, original essays, drawings and performances.
The "Lincoln, the Frontiersman" statue was donated by Mrs. Katherine McIntosh Burke, an Ewa School teacher and principal from 1919 to 1927, and was unveiled on Feb. 12, 1944. The annual Lincoln Day Program has been a proud tradition ever since.
