The Hawaii State Department of Education (HIDOE) will monitor the effects of Tropical Storm Darby closely and make further adjustments as necessary. Carnival rides, tents and other equipment will be dismantled after tonight's operation as a safety precaution and will be set up again for next weekend's festivities. Hosted by Kaimuki High School, the family-friendly carnival is a community event and school fundraiser to kick off the new school year and features over a dozen rides, live entertainment, food and free admission. HIDOE appreciates the Kaimuki community's kokua and understanding for the schedule changes.
