2022-23 School Year

The Official School Calendar applies to all schools except Holomua Elementary and charter schools. For School Year 2022-23:
  • Teacher work year begins July 26, 2022.
  • Student instructional year begins Aug. 1, 2022.

The earliest date for commencement exercises is the first weekend preceding the last day of school for students. For the Class of 2023, commencement may be scheduled no sooner than May 19, 2023.

​School schedules

Pursuant to 302A-251, Hawaii Revised Statutes, schools are required to implement a 180-day school year that includes 1,080 hours. All times that students are on campus, including recess and lunch, count toward the 1,080 hour requirement.
