Ala Wai Elementary believes students learn best when cared for and given high expectations. The school is proud of the diverse international backgrounds of its students.

Strong school programs focus on building self-esteem and developing students both socially and academically. These include positive action program, enrichment, the primary adjustment project, Hawaiian studies, art, yoga and computer, in addition to engaging educational fieldtrips and cocurricular student activities.
