About this school
To promote academic achievement and staff development, Hanalei Elementary conducts regular planning and data conversations through the school's Professional Learning Communities.
The Everyday Math textbook requires problem-solving and reasoning skills that bring relevance to concepts. The English language arts curriculum uses resources including trained reading tutors, a leveled-reading curriculum and writing curriculum. The remaining core curricular areas are also aligned to expectations.
Hanalei Elementary has developed practices of differentiated instruction on many levels and services those with special needs. The school works closely with the Parent Teacher Student Association board in continuing to offer enrichment programs.
The School Community Council brings together all segments of the school community in a forum to discuss and support the school’s vision, mission, and goals. Hanalei Elementary's vision is to be an empowered school-community that provides successful, quality education for lifelong learning.
