About this school
In addition to Honoka'a Elementary's core curriculum in reading and math, the school implements a three-tiered intervention program in both core subjects.
Students receive additional services in areas of need using research-based intervention programs. The school offers computer-based instruction for students who need additional support, and teachers in grades 3 to 6 also provide math intervention weekly. Assessment of students occur every eight weeks for reading and math.
Honoka'a Elementary values parent participation and holds numerous family events focusing on topics such as standards-based instruction; parenting skills; helping children succeed at school; test- taking skills; and showcasing student work. Honoka'a Elementary believes all students can learn, and it strives to provide the highest quality public school education possible.
