About this school
Kahalu'u Elementary has placed a schoolwide focus on the use of Thinking Maps, Singapore Math and multimedia technology in classrooms and library.
Instruction through ukulele, Lego League robotics, sustainable gardens and the Aloha 'Aina curriculum focuses on values that build a sustainable citizenry for the Kahaluu community.
Through the concerted efforts of the teachers and staff members, Kahalu'u School Ohana and the School Community Council, the mission to raise the level of academic performance of students is the driving force in school governance and instructional plans.
The Key Project and the Kekumu Ola O Kahalu'u, a consortium of five churches in the community, actively support Kahalu'u School. Another major school supporter is the Punahou School’s Partnership in Unlimited Educational Opportunities, whose mission is to prepare students for college and career.
