About this school
Kealakehe Elementary has a workshop model for reading, writing and mathematics where teachers meet in professional learning communities twice a month, develop common assessments and examine student work. Schoolwide data is collected at least three times a year.
The school practices the inclusion model to meet the needs of special education, English language learners and gifted and talented students. Support for these students is provided by trained personnel who work with students and teachers in the classroom. Students have have access to mobile computer carts and two computer labs, while a number of teachers are using interactive whiteboards and other technology.
Kealakehe Elementary offers a comprehensive afterschool program, including tutorials in reading and math, homework help and many enrichment opportunities.
