Kekaulike High provides a comprehensive academic program. Students may take courses in advanced placement, career and technology education pathways, peer education, Advancement Via Individual Determination and credit recovery.

A full range of ​cocurricular activities and athletics is offered. A Hawaiian language immersion program was launched in 1997 and every Hawaiian immersion senior class participates in both the Kula Kaiapuni o Maui graduation as well as the traditional school commencement ceremony.

The Parent Teacher Student Association is actively involved in supporting the school, coordinating an annual staff appreciation luncheon and other events.
