Relationships, rigor and relevance lay the foundation for the implementation of standards-based education at Keonepoko Elementary.

The school has implemented Professional Learning Communities where grade-level teams meet regularly to analyze student data based on monthly benchmark assessments and plan intervention strategies. The school participates in a partnership with Kamehameha School’s Literacy Instructional Support in science and writing for students in k-3 classrooms.

Keonepoko Elementary encourages a partnership with parents through a number of events and celebrations showcasing student progress. The School Community Council provides a forum for parents and community members contribute to student achievement. It reviews data on the progress of the school’s academic and financial plan.
