Kohala High is committed to providing an engaging, rigorous program for students.
The school has a strong academic core program and also offers a range of opportunities, including advancement placement classes in English literature, composition and American history as well as a base of career and technical courses in building and construction, culinary arts, health and natural resources.
Kohala High hosts an extracurricular program that includes athletics, clubs, and activities that support student growth beyond the classroom. Partnerships with several grant programs and community organizations enrich students' extracurricular life through programs such as robotics, speech, debate, drama, sustainable farming and industrial arts.
Tutorial supports are provided after school, evenings and during interim periods. A summer bridge program was added in 2012 to assist in the transition for incoming 9th graders.
