Konawaena Elementary is committed to ensuring all students graduate college-and career-ready through effective use of standards-based education.
The school's strategies include:
- Teachers analyzing formative and longitudinal data to improve and standardize instruction and interventions for all students
- Using cooperative learning, goal setting and team talk strategies in reading to develop self-directed learners
- Promote student understanding of objectives in mathematics
For parent involvement, a Family Focus Team is responsible for researching ways to effectively involve parents so they can help their child. Konawaena Elementary has an active School Community Council and Parent Teacher Association that supports the school’s efforts.
