About this school
Konawaena High offers a comprehensive academic and elective program, advanced placement and honors courses, running start courses, vocational studies, JROTC, and a full complement of co-curricular activities and athletics.
The school provides the practice SAT to all 9th through 11th graders. It offers programs for disabled students, students with limited English proficiency skills, full counseling services and a Hawaii Community College sponsored building and construction academy. Konawaena High uses programs for students needing additional reading instruction, offers math workshop support courses in algebra, geometry and algebra II.
The school has an active Parent Teacher Student Association, two scholarship foundations, and a host of supportive alumni. In May of 2012 Konawaena High along with 13 other Hawaii public high schools was named a bronze medal school of academic distinction by U.S. News and World Report.
