About this school
Konawaena Middle embraces the philosophy and structures that support learning for early adolescents. Teachers are engaged in professional development activities that promote rigorous curriculum, instruction and assessment.
A character program has been incorporated schoolwide as a support for social skill development. Students are required to provide evidence of academic work toward meeting the standards and schoolwide learning expectations by creating portfolios that are shared with parents twice a year at student–led conferences.
Students receive extra supports through tutorial classes offered three days a week. Study halls are also provided for students needing more time and assistance to finish assignments.
The School Community Council meets monthly to discuss and address school needs.
