Lanakila Elementary believes in shared decision-making, collaboration and cooperation with all stakeholders. The school is committed to preparing all students for college and career success.

The school's educational programs provide for all children -- gifted and talented, disadvantaged, special education, limited English proficiency and early childhood. Educators provide high quality standards-based instruction using research-based programs with the support of active parents and community members. Before, during and afterschool intervention classes help bring all students up to proficiency.

The school implements Advancement Via Individual Determination strategies to equip students with skills needed to become better learners throughout their academic careers. Lanakila Elementary offers equal opportunity for all students and has begun incorporating inclusion classrooms in grades K-5. Special education students, as well as most English language learners, are in general education classrooms co-taught by a general education and special education teacher.
