Maili Elementary supports student achievement through place-based learning, in which students connect their learning to the community, its history and its future.

The school incorporates Hawaiian language and culture into the life of the school. Maili Elementary's School Community Council, which includes parents, the community, teachers, administrators, and other staff members, ensures that student academic progress is being made and that the school’s budget supports the initiatives in the academic and financial plan.
