About this school
Teachers and staff at Nu'uanu Elementary believe all children can and will learn and succeed when given rigorous and relevant instructions, proper guidance and a nurturing environment. The school helps children develop their academic knowledge, behavioral, social skills and attitudes in order to prepare them to live as contributing citizens in a rapidly changing world.
Nu'uanu Elementary offers language arts enrichment for gifted and talented children, computer and technology education, special education, math and remedial reading help, online reading, math and limited English proficiency services. Students also have the opportunity to participate in service learning projects such as Student Council, Peer Mediation, Technology Club, Lego Robotics and Junior Police Officers. Afterschool programs include arts and craft, chorus, dancing, golf, tennis and Lego building activities.
Nu'uanu Elementary receives support from the School Community Council, the Parent Community Networking Center, and parent teacher organization, Aikane 'O Nu'uanu.
