Waiau Elementary strives to develop positive relationships in a safe and nurturing environment and create a respectful and responsible community of individuals who love learning.
The school offers a wide range of learning opportunities that include Hawaiian language immersion, literacy, primary school adjustment, special education, English language learner, pre-plus preschool and arts education. Technology is incorporated into the curriculum to enhance student learning.
Students have the opportunity to learn through the visual and performing arts, including the Hui ‘Ukulele, Waiau Chorus, Waiau Sound Machine (percussion group) and the Waiau Violin Group. The balanced curriculum offered at Waiau Elementary meets the interests, strengths and needs of all students.
The Parent Teacher Association, Na Mamo A Haloa, and School Community Council are major stakeholders in the community. Parental support is key to the success of the students.
