About this school
Waimalu Elementary prepares children to excel in all areas of their lives by providing opportunities for students to apply and adapt themselves through real-life learning experiences.
The School Community Council, which brings together community, parents, teachers and staff, serves as a forum for exchanging ideas on how to improve student achievement. The school's commitment to school improvement is reflected in the strategic, academic, and financial plans.
In addition to a standards-based core curriculum, Waimalu Elementary provides the following supplemental programs: gifted/talented, music (chorus), physical education, Hawaiiana, art and multimedia.
The school is surrounded by many supportive organizations and resources, including an experienced and highly qualified staff, Parent Teacher Organization, a military partnership, Friends of Waimalu Committee and local community business partners. The organizations help strengthen the school’s efforts to provide students with the best possible educational experiences.
