About this school
Waipahu Elementary utilizes data teams to make decisions and adjustments to curriculum and assessments through reviews of formative instruction. The school ensures students have multiple ways to demonstrate academic progress.
All students in grades 4-6 utilize Advancement Via Individual Determination strategies to promote college and career readiness. An award-winning Tek Trekker program provides students with technical skills in multimedia production and communication. Enrichment clubs in sewing and music have helped students discover other talents and skills.
Waipahu Elementary supports English language learners through a Newcomers Center equipped with computer technology.
The school enjoys a number of partnerships with local organizations and businesses to improve educational opportunities for students, including a Fresh Fruit and Vegetables program to promote health and nutrition through the support of the Navy and Department of Health Public Health Nurses.
