All efforts at Waipahu High revolve around the school's vision to prepare students for success in college and careers through challenging and relevant educational programs.

The school's Early College High School Initiative, a partnership with the University of Hawaii, allows students to take college courses and earn credits in a number of subjects. Waipahu High has also launched several “Academies” to encourage students to identify their career interests and take relevant courses while in high school. They are:
