About this school
Wilcox Elementary boasts a character education program that focuses on developing a solid foundation of character through nine Hawaiian values: Aloha, Ho'oponopono, 'Ike, Kōkua, Kuleana, Laulima, Lōkahi, Mālama and 'Ohana. Each grade level is responsible for a value and does a presentation at a monthly assembly that recognizes students.
The school's Aloha Peace Project, an antibullying curriculum, is taught by volunteers and every student and teacher attend several days of grade-level specific courses. The school has a hydroponics green house, and several grade levels grow mini-gardens in various areas around campus. Each of these gardens is linked to standards being taught in that particular grade.
The Parent Teacher Student Association supports school projects and needs.
