The Hawaii State Department of Education (HIDOE) provided a comprehensive menu of engaging summer learning opportunities. Students are offered programs and services via five summer learning models to appeal to and reach as many children as possible: Official Summer School, School Learning Hub, Specialized Student Support, Accelerated Learning, and College, Career and Community Learning.
This Final Report is a summary of all HIDOE summer programs and services across the state. This report includes: student outcomes and participation, services provided to students and families, college and career experiences, as well as other operational support data.
Next Steps for Summer Learning
In spring 2022, the Hawaii State Department of Education will be administering a survey to parents to gauge their interest in enrolling their child in a summer 2022 learning program. Based on parent voice, the Department will be able to prepare for a robust summer learning program that engages students.
