Subject matter standards

Below is a list of the standards that the Hawaii DOE use to ensure students are being exposed to rigorous and age-appropriate benchmarks of learning. Standards are not curriculum, but expectations of what students should know and be able to do at each grade level. Visit our Learning Design site to learn more about curriculum design aligned to standards.

The Hawai‘i DOE's Office of Curriculum and Instructional Design initiated this resource in 2018 with the feedback of HIDOE educators to ensure we fulfill our mission:

We serve our community by developing the academic achievement, character and social-emotional well-being of our students to the fullest potential. We work with partners, families and communities to ensure that all students reach their aspirations, from early learning through college, career and citizenship.
