STUDENT SUCCESS INDICATOR

Chronic Absenteeism. Percentage of students who are absent for 15 or more days during the school year.

Rationale: Student attendance is a powerful predictor of student success, even accounting for other factors such as prior academic preparation and poverty. Students need to be in school to achieve and grow. The habit of “showing up” is an important life skill.
