In the August 2024 report to the Board of Education (BOE), Superintendent Keith Hayashi highlighted the start of the new school year, recapping professional development opportunities for staff over the summer.
Superintendent Hayashi also acknowledged school bus routes that were suspended and efforts the Department is making to secure new drivers and restore those routes.
The report also recognized ‘Ewa Makai Middle and Stevenson Middle for being named as two of Association for Middle Level Education’s 2024 Schools of Distinction out of 17 schools across the country.
Mahalo to Riddum and Emma Sophia, two students from Nā Alakaʻi o Palisades, a student leadership group at Palisades Elementary, for wrapping up the report with an outstanding presentation illustrating how their school’s vision and motto tie into the Board and Department’s strategic plan and Palisades' efforts to move forward together as "One ʻOhana" in the spirit of Neʻepapa.
