In the December 2023 report to the Board of Education (BOE), Superintendent Keith Hayashi and Deputy Superintendent Tammi Oyadomari-Chun shared updates on Lāhainā schools impacted by the Maui wildfires, recognized high school career academies that received awards, and provided an update on proposed legislation and work underway to increase local products in school meals.


In the December 2023 report to the Board of Education (BOE), Superintendent Keith Hayashi and Deputy Superintendent Tammi Oyadomari-Chun shared an update on the King Kamehameha III Elementary temporary campus currently under construction at Pulelehua (including Q&A) and details about a current online Purposity campaign for Maui school staff impacted the wildfires in Lāhainā and Kula. The report also highlighted career academies at Farrington High and Castle High that were recognized by the National Career Academy Coalition (NCAC) as 2023 NCAC Model Acadmies and two career academies at Waipahu High named as NCAC Model Academies with Distinction, followed by an update on proposed legislation and work underway to increase local products in school meals.
