In the January 2024 report to the Board of Education (BOE), Superintendent Keith Hayashi shared an update on the King Kamehameha III Elementary temporary campus currently under construction at Pulelehua and an anticipated timeline for its reopening. The report mentions an enrollment survey that was sent out to King Kamehameha III Elementary families to assist with planning for the new site and updated wipe test results for Lāhainā schools. The report also highlighted Mililani and Maui High Schools for being named the first-ever Hawai’i Schools of Democracy, the second annual Shoots Summit featuring over 500 creative media students, teachers and industry professionals, and showed a recap video of Olympic Gold Medalist Kristi Yamaguchi and Jesse Sapolu, Super Bowl Champion and Farrington High School graduate visiting Linapuni Elementary to read aloud to students.
