For awards and recognitions, Superintendent Hayashi congratulated Royal Elementary School for being a model of safety and winning the 2024 ASSP Excellence in Safety Award in the government category. He also shared that Honouliuli Middle School has earned “verified” status by the Collaborative for High Performance Schools, and is the first whole campus to be recognized in Hawaiʻi. Additionally, King Kamehameha III Elementary School’s temporary site at Pulelehua won the title of Project of the Year in the education sector by the Construction Management Association of America. The leadership teams from Koko Head Elementary and Mililani ʻIke Elementary also recently accepted their 2024 National Blue Ribbon School award in Washington, D.C.
