Thank your favorite teacher with #ThankATeacherHI

05-May-2014

For National Teacher Day (May 6) and National Teacher Appreciation Week (May 5-9), we encourage everyone to broadcast their love and admiration for the teachers who impacted their lives. Tag your social posts with #ThankATeacherHI.

National Teacher Appreciation Week provides us with a unique opportunity to express our gratitude to teachers. The Department proudly joins schools and communities across the nation in celebrating National Teacher Appreciation Week, May 5-9, and National Teacher Day, May 6.

Hawaii is extremely fortunate to have so many dedicated educators. Please view our signed proclamation celebrating our teachers from Board of Education Chair Don Horner and Supt. Kathryn Matayoshi.

We encourage the community to reach out to the teachers in their schools to say thanks directly, or to remember a favorite teacher via social posts. Please tag those with #ThankATeacherHI, and we'll be gathering some of our favorites for a post at the end of the week.
