About this school
Koko Head Elementary promotes high academic standards and excellence for all students with tremendous support from the School Community Council and its parent group, the Friends of Koko Head.
The school is committed to preparing students for the increasingly complex and interconnected world. It nurtures advance systems, programs and initiatives that develop students into better communicators and problem solvers as they prepare for college and careers. Besides the traditional core of language arts, math, social studies and science, Koko Head Elementary also offers weekly experiences in Mandarin, Spanish, Hawaiiana, music, physical education and health, and computer technology.
Educators receive professional development on three major areas: 1) Improving learning and teaching of the Common Core State Standards, 2) Increasing awareness of the International Baccalaureate program, and 3) Increasing student engagement with interactive whiteboards.
Academic Plan & Financial Plan
Every school develops an Academic Plan as part of collaborative process with its School Community Council, staff and Complex Area. The three-year plan provides structure for a school's plans for improvement, achievement and innovation. The companion one-year financial plan outlines anticipated expenditures to realize the vision of the Academic Plan. Both are aligned to the state's
2017-2020 Strategic Plan.
