About this school
Manana Elementary is a professional, positive and caring school where student needs are met. Standards-based instruction empowers students with opportunities to become respectful and responsible members of our increasingly global society. The school's beliefs include:
- Students learn at different rates and in various ways
- Learning experiences should be meaningfully connected to oneself and applied to life
- Personal accountability is important for success.
Na Keiki O Manana, the school chorus, has performed for schools, hospitals and retirement centers on the islands of Kauai, Oahu, Maui, and Hawaii, as well as on the mainland. Manana Elementary also has other programs, including enrichment classes, a math team, robotics, junior police officers, track team and student council.
Strong community and family support is demonstrated through the School Community Council, an active Parent Teacher Organization, and numerous community volunteers.
Academic Plan & Financial Plan
Every school develops an Academic Plan as part of collaborative process with its School Community Council, staff and Complex Area. The three-year plan provides structure for a school's plans for improvement, achievement and innovation. The companion one-year financial plan outlines anticipated expenditures to realize the vision of the Academic Plan. Both are aligned to the state's
2017-2020 Strategic Plan.
