Moloka'i Middle values hard work, learning that is relevant and interesting and good communication with parents and the community.
The school teaches core subjects, electives, physical education and health, and science, technology, engineering and math classes. Advanced math and language arts classes are offered at each grade level. Students identified as needing additional help are pulled from electives for short, targeted instruction. Teachers and staff meet to analyze student performance data and plan interventions.
Moloka'i Middle delivers a Hawaiian language immersion Program for grades 7 and 8. An afterschool enrichment program is open to all students.
The school is supported by several community partnerships and programs. Moloka'i Middle's academic and financial plan emphasizes formative assessment, data analysis and targeted interventions to focus school resources and strategies on continuous growth in student achievement.
Academic Plan & Financial Plan
Every school develops an Academic Plan as part of collaborative process with its School Community Council, staff and Complex Area. The three-year plan provides structure for a school's plans for improvement, achievement and innovation. The companion one-year financial plan outlines anticipated expenditures to realize the vision of the Academic Plan. Both are aligned to the state's
2017-2020 Strategic Plan.
